    Food was remarkable! They had a nice jazz band playing live and the waitress was attentive and quick to fill our needs. The people next to us had a different server though and I noticed she was not as on top of their table. So I guess service could be iffy.

    I've never been a big fan of pork chops, so I don't know what prompted me to order one at Earl's the other night, but I'm glad I did! 12 oz, honey and black pepper rubbed, served with polenta and fried green tomatoes. Essentially gussied up comfort food, but very delicious nonetheless. Our server Austin knew his menu and had good suggestions, and the ambiance was classy without being overbearing. My starter, smoked salmon pastrami style, was good but was so pastrami tasting I lost the essence of salmon - tasty, but I'm glad it wasn't the main. We all left so stuffed they practically had to roll us out of there.

    I am really disappointed in Earl's. I had only heard good things about Earl's but my experience was not a good one. I went for brunch. The Bloody Mary's were pretty good but the service and food was horrible. I sat at the bar and it took forever to get my food. When I finally got my meal, the salmon was so dry and the lentils were not fully cooked. For the price, I had high expectations and they were shattered. Since I rarely eat fish, this really disappointed me. I brought it home for the dog. Such a shame, but its better than it going to waste.

    Stopped by for lunch during the Strawberry Festival and the restaurant seemed pretty busy. We had a group of six and they actually had a party of six cancel which worked out perfectly. We got sat right away and our drinks came out quickly. For it being lunchtime however, the service was extremely slow. Having a 13 month old with us, we were expecting the food to come out much quicker especially during lunch. The baby got his food first and he actually basically finished his meal before we even got our soups and salads. By the time our meals came out, he was ready to go. The food is sub-par for the price you are paying. 3 of the 4 adults got the business lunch special (2 courses for $21). I started with the Signature Salad which was really good. They don't allow you to stray from the set menu. We asked if we could get the special they were running for the festival (strawberry salad), but they do not do that. For the price you are paying, I didn't see what the big deal was. Not like we were asking for a piece of steak as a substitute. Salad for a salad. Star lost for not being accomodating. Husband ordered the She-Crab bisque and it was one dimensional. He liked it but all I tasted was cream. They really skimped on the crab meat. Lack of quality will be a common theme in this review. My sister got the Scallops and she actually left hungry. The scallops were gritty and the dish itself was bland. They do a great job plating though. I ordered the petit filet and ordered it Med. rare. It came out rare. I ate it anyway since I didn't want to wait any longer for our food. The server actually did not ask us to cut into our filets to make sure it was cooked properly. My dish came out messy. I barely had any onions on my dish while my brother-in-law had a pile of it on his filet. The meat is not of high quality at all and was just grisly. I absolutely love the vibrant colors of brussel sprouts and my expectations were disappointed when it came out and looked like limp sauteed bacon and cabbage. For how long it took to come out, it looked like they literally threw my meat on the grill and took it off right away and threw the bacon and brussel sprouts into a sautee pan and threw it on the plate (5 minutes total of cook time is what I give it). Thumbs up to the bartender. We thoroughly enjoyed our Right not Left. Perfect balance of bitter, sweet, and sour. The muddled cucumbers and strawberries made the drink so refreshing and how can you go wrong with Patron. With tip, our lunch for a table of 4 adults and 2 kids came to $200. On the hefty side but we never have a problem paying this much when we actually get quality food. Left walking around the festival feeling we would have enjoyed the food at the festival more and paying only a 1/4 of the price. Save your money until the restaurant actually focuses on the quality. Tricking people into thinking you are offering quality by charging quality prices is just straight up mean and disappointing.

    A restaurant that offers local food and drinks is a good place in my book. They have a decent beer menu. I ordered the black bean sliders which were awful. They needed a sauce for flavor and moisture. If they had an aoli, that would be perfect! Service was great! Atmosphere nice.

    Earls has become our special celebration place if we wish to stay local. The food is always good, a bit overpriced for the area but quality service.

    Took a day trip from NJ to peddlers village just to get away. Wanted to have dinner and walked over or Earls to check it out. Had a cocktail at the bar and then walked around the village. Came back for dinner and was not disappointed. We ordered the Amazonian fish and the d fish for dinner. Was perfectly cooked and very tasty. Appetizers were good ( I had the pacific oysters which were good ) and large portions . Service was attentive although we did have to ask for Bread that all of the tables around us already had received. In all I would still go back as it was quite tasty

    After reading all the reviews I felt this place ended up exceeding expectations. We went here to celebrate my birthday and we had a great time. We had clams casino and ceasar salad to start. And then we both had they petite filet and lobster tail for dinner. The food was great. The filet mignon and lobster tail both cooked perfectly. Our waitress Carol was friendly and attentive to our needs. She came by when we needed her and was helpful in explaining everything to us. We had a great time, would definitely recommend to others. The place is pricey, i'd probably save it for a special occasion.

    My boyfriend and I have been here twice and it still continues to wow me each time. The first time we went, it wasn't very crowded, so I was skeptical. But I remember really liking the meal! After we left, I caught eye that they were doing a wine tasting event, and so we decided to try that out a few weeks after. I am a huge wine enthusiast, and I am critical of service and environment. The ambience is very romantic and trendy. The food was delicious, the wine pairing was done very well, and we were able to meet the chef afterwards which I thought was cool. The steaks were made the way we wanted them, which was a big deal to us because we get ashamed when waiters at other restaurants ask how our food was, and we get embarrassed when we say the steak isn't made right...But most importantly, I loved loved LOVED the service! I was very impressed and will go there again. It is on the pricey side so I recommend it for special occasions, unless you really like fine dining--then I recommend every week. Hands down my favorite restaurant in the Montgomery/Bucks County area.

    OK where to begin? I guess I'll start with the positives... The atmosphere is nice and romantic. My husbands steak was AMAZING and his potato wedges were great as well. Now for the ugly...My scallops were under cooked so I sent them back. They basically reheated them and gave me the same plate back. Um, sorry if I am paying 175.00 for dinner, you remake the dish. I finally just wanted to leave but had the manager come over (appreciated it) wanting me to order something else. They do not take no for an answer there.... so they gave us a desert to go. Another table by us had the same issue with the same dish. I got an apple martini with ICE in it. Really? I was just so upset with the whole experience. If Jim's steak had been anything but fantastic I'd have given them 1 star. Service was also lacking. I want good service. It was m'eh. I may give them another try but not anytime soon.

    Wow, after reading everyone's reviews of this place, i'm not sure how my meal turned out so fantastic but it did! I've been here twice so far and the food has been excellent. They have a great selection of drinks to start out with, which is always good. I also suggest starting out with the lobster dumplings. They are pretty amazing- stuffed with a delicious piece of lobster and a soy sauce reduction on the plate. I thought i would need another dipping sauce, but the reduction was actually perfect since the lobster was so juicy. I once had ribs here. I had my qualms about ordering ribs from such a fancy restaurant, as to me, ribs are BBQ fare. But these ribs were absolutely amazing. They fell right off the bone and were smothered in their BBQ sauce. Really delicious. I've also tried their steaks- both the filet and 12 oz. new york strip. Both are delicious and were perfectly cooked. The shallot sauce is very sweet but a great accompaniment if that's what you enjoy. I prefer their herb butter, however. My favorite part of the meal, however, was their creamy truffled polenta. These grits are seriously to die for- cheesy, with a hint of truffle oil. Really tasty. Service was top notch as well. Our server was quick and attentive. My only qualm about the meal was that the table was a little worn and water stained. Same with my wineglass- lots of water spots. But the food and service here are great.

    My boyfriend and I came in for a meal and cocktails after a long day of shopping and wine tasting in Bucks County. All of the other restaurants were packed and Earl's had tons of availability so we gave it a try. The seasonal "fresh" martinis sounded delicious, with promises of fresh pumpkin and cinnamon, but were almost undrinkable. The calamari appetizer was difficult to eat because the batter would fall off while dipping into the awful sauce. Our meals were average. I had a chicken salad from the specials menu and he had a sandwich. The bread was inedible as it was hard as a brick and was actually quite comical. No love lost. I would try making a reservation at another restaurant if you are going to be in the area.

    My boyfriend, his parents and I went to Earl's for dinner last night after visiting Peddler's Village. After reading reviews of the available dinner options in the area, I decided either Hart's, Cock and Bull or Earl's we're the 3 to choose from. We all had been to Hart's before, so I figured we could try something different. Cock and Bull was completely booked that day, so that left Earl's of Bucks County. When we walked in the lights were very dim, but you could still tell that restaurant was more on the upscale side with a nice bar with big windows and artwork throughout the restaurant. We were seated quickly and promptly ordered a bottle of wine. Since the restaurant specializes in offering their food from local farms, we decided we would go with one of the organic/sustainable wines on their list. The shiraz we chose was pretty yummy to me, but I usually enjoy a nice red wine so I'm not too picky. For dinner I chose the lobster bisque soup with the crab cake small plate. I ate all of the soup because I was hungry, but it really didn't have much flavor. Also, I didn't see one chunk of lobster in the whole $7 bowl of soup. The crab cakes were served on a long plate with three small cakes topped with a creamy sauce and some little sprigs of green lettuce. They were ok, but definitely not the best I've ever had. Either the lettuce or the cream sauce on top of the crab cakes gave them a very grassy taste. My boyfriend had the farm chicken, which was pretty tasty and had a nice crunchy skin on it that gave the chicken a lot of flavor. He cleaned his plate. My boyfriend's dad had the pork chops and cleaned his plate as well. My boyfriend's mother had the duck, which she seemed to like. It was served with a few pieces of rare looking duck slices and then a leg with meat on the bone. The rare pieces didn't taste as good as the meat on the bone and she clearly left them on the side and just ate the other part of the duck. IMO, the food was just ok and a little expensive for the way it tasted. However, it was presented nicely. In terms of the service, our waitress wasn't great and I think I've seen all I need to see of Earl's of Bucks County. Not a bad experience, but not the best.

    (Crossposted at Tripadvisor) -- The appetizers were the high point of the meal. Everything else was downhill. Got the ribs for myself. Half of them weren't glazed in sauce. I had asked the waiter, "Can I get this without the slaw and have something replacing it? Butternut squash?" He said he'd take care of it. What that meant was, he'd take away the slaw and give me nothing in return. So, one less ingredient on my plate. My wife had scallops, which were very gritty. My mother's pork chop was, by her admission, pretty good. Before we ordered, the waiter was there every minute seeing if we were ready (we weren't). After we got our meal, the waiter was a ghost. No fill-up on my mother's coffee. I'd have bought another cocktail or two, but nobody came around. When time came for him to collect the plates, my wife mentioned that the scallops were gritty. Finally, the water came back, put three dessert menus down and said, the manager agreed to "pay for dessert." We all picked out desserts, thinking that this was pretty nice. Well, what the waiter meant was, my wife would get a dessert, not the three of us. So, she got a $6 dessert to cover a gritty, unpleasant $26 scallops meal. With lacking service to boot. Cannot recommend this place. Yes, Earl's may be new, and their menu sounds good. And it looks good. But it doesn't hold up to scrutiny, and in an area with good-to-great restaurants (Honey, Piper Tavern, etc.) I know I won't ever go back.

    The other reviews are from 2010 and don't reflect my experience from June, 2013. We ate around 6 pm on a Wednesday after an afternoon of shopping. That we were wearing jeans and t-shirts was not a problem, although the restaurant is somewhat upscale in my estimation. We found the service attentive and the food tasty. We shared a salad that was as advertised in the menu -- mandarin oranges, cranberries, pecans, feta, etc., with a nice dressing. Then my wife had a steak cooked just the way she specified (between medium-rare and medium). She didn't like the potatoes because of the seasonings, so they promptly brought her some mashed potatoes, which she liked. I ordered the salmon, and it was moist. The serving size was just right for me, not too large, and I finished everything. We also had an Argentinian Malbec with the meal that was delicious. Earl's is pricy, but I'd definitely eat there again for a special occasion.

    This Peddler's Village establishment underwent a change of management, chef and identity around the beginning of the year, morphing from "Earl's Prime," basically a steakhouse, to "Earl's Bucks County" with more diverse offerings, yet retaining its retro Sixties interior. Thus, any reviews predating February 2010 should be disregarded. We went because we were enticed by the reputation of the chef, formerly of New Hope's Mansion Inn, and his reported emphasis on freshness and sustainable food. Indeed, the beet appetizer was excellent, with the hoped-for fresh produce. The mushroom soup was quite good, although nowhere equal to the spectacular equivalent at Rouget in nearby Newtown. Steak au poivre, flatbread and Irish coffee were just okay, but desserts were winners: pineapple upside down cake and local ice cream were both excellent. Alas, the recommended "popular" $35 Hess cabernet was pretty rough stuff, tasting slightly burnt like cheap California pinots sometimes did years ago (it had a rubber cork, so wasn't "corked"). Friendly, perky service, but twice had to reorder things that didn't arrive when they should (e.g., the waitress was surprised we wanted our wine with our appetizer rather than later in the meal). Withal, at $85 per person with tip (roughly $55 sans wine and Irish coffee), Earl's latest incarnation is IMO a dubious value, especially with decidedly better and more consistent food at lower prices at such nearby alternatives as Summer Kitchen in Penns Park and Manon in Lambertville.

    went to earls, lahaska , december 18, 2010. two martini's werer$24.00!!! small small salad, burger was good and also overpriced...hey this is not nyc.............service is very poor, bartender takes order and we wait and wait while he fills other orders from the servers.........also waited 25 m inutes for our server to even come to the table. we ordered our own drinks from the bar......try new hope , 10 minutes down the road, marcells's is the best kept secret, shockingly good, beautiful presentation, and very reasonable. lobster bisque a nd lobste salad is incredible.......we sat right in front of the fireplace(not too hot) sooooooo romantic! service is excellent and so very friendly.

    Had lunch last Saturday 10/23 in Peddlers Village. Since we are from the farming state of Wisconsin, we were attracted by the claims of freshness and sustainable food advertised. I am not sure how or where Earl's gets its produce or meats, but it was the most incredibly bland food I have had in a long time. I have had more flavorful food in airports. Even the garnish pickle was flat. My husband had the "adult" cheese sandwich and I had the flat bread chicken pizza. The adult portion of the cheese sandwich must have been ham. The ham looked like the square variety that comes in a vacuum pack. There was no mention of ham on the menu or by the waitress. No sugar offered for my ice tea, no salt or pepper on the table. Lousy service. Only one male/female rest room on the first floor. It would seem like they have no clue how to cook or run the front of the house. The best I could say is, this restaurant should close.
